About Barburrito

Our story, mission, and the people behind your favorite Mexican food

Barburrito Restaurant Interior

Our Story

Barburrito was founded in 2012 with a simple mission: to bring authentic, fresh Mexican flavors to Canada in a fast, convenient format without compromising on quality.

Our journey began with a single location in Toronto, where our founder Maria Rodriguez, inspired by her family's recipes from Oaxaca, Mexico, created a menu that combined traditional Mexican cooking techniques with locally sourced Canadian ingredients.

What started as a small taqueria has grown into a beloved chain with locations across Canada, but our commitment to fresh, made-from-scratch food remains unchanged. Every morning, our teams arrive early to prepare salsas, guacamole, and marinades using traditional recipes and methods.

Today, Barburrito continues to grow while staying true to our roots - serving delicious, authentic Mexican food made with care and the finest ingredients.
